I'm creating this thread to start the discussion about the witch doctor and to know your thoughts on him. Are you happy with what you have seen so far? Are you pissed and think blizzard just borrowed it off of WoW? Do you think his skills are way too necromancer like? Are you afraid/angry that he might replace the necro from D2?


Known skills:

Locust Swarm (offensive/minion buff)
Firebomb (offensive)
Horrify (enemy manipulation)
Mass Confusion (enemy manipulation/offensive)
Soul Harvest (offensive/self buff)
Wall of Zombies (offensive/summoning)
Summon Mongrel (summoning/offensive)

Its fine with me some classes like necro needed to be changed. I just hope blizzard does not replace Amazon, or Sorc!

Actually it's hard to say because in the videos so far the skills were maximized and it depends how powerful they will be. Zombie Wall looks fucking crazy but I seriously doubt that a single wall will shatter whole hordes into pieces as it did in the video. And yes, it does feel like this will be the replacement of good ol' necro (sadly). But who knows, this shaman may be even more fun to play...

I'm almost positive that this witchdoctor is the necro replacement. The WD almost has the same skills as the necro, releasing a necro with the same skills would be dumb and clutter the game. So i'm sad to say i feel this is the Necro Killer..


On another thought, the one thing i am thinkng about is the sorc's teleport ability.
seeing as the game is very isometric, i wonder if the sorceress will have the ability to teleport around the world.

I'm only questioning since that teleport ability was the most unique to the sorc in diablo 2, i would hate to see that spell/ability be nulled in diablo3 .. it would almost kill me to play a sorc with no teleport...

another thing that might happen is they may add a warlock type character with the same type of skills just no teleport..

im wondering since i dont know how they will make a 3d game with people teleporting everywhere. i've never seen it done... gracefully anyway.

This is 100% oppinionated... but i for ONE, love the idea of the WitchDoctor in the world of DIABLO! But the only thing making him look weak... is lack of weapon attack. If the WitchDoctor is from the jungle... should he not have a blow-dart-gun... bow skills... or something along those lines..?

well so far ima be choosing it for sure. witch-doctor looks far OP which i LIKE! the AOES and the power off the attack looks, are nice. yeah this is so far chosen by me

I am pretty sure this will be somewhat like a necro/sorc but not that OP and dont worry A BOW DROPPED IN THE GAMEPLAY VIDEO!!!!!!!
