I just had an idea, what if instead of autostats they made capstats? For example, lets say characters start with 6 str, 6 dex, 6 int, and 6 vir. And the statcap for level one is 20. When you reach level 2 you get +5 stat points to spend, and cap raises by 1. By level 4 player put all of his stat points into str but he reached the cap of 23 so hes/she is forced to put rest of the stat points else where. Just my idea that in my opion would work better then autostats cuz player modified stats was what loved about diablo and diablo 2 as RPG. And statcaps may be what will everyone like, different caps for barbarian is also something I think would be neat. (like str and virt cap of 30 and int 15 at level 1).
I like the idea. sounds good.
I understand blizz's POV on the whole difficult with stats starting out idea. but they just killed my idea of fun and PERFECTING my character.
which was one of the most fun aspects for me.
being off by 1 stat would make me restart an entire character
i know it sounds crazy but i enjoyed leveling up again.
I like the capstats idea because that allows more freedom than autostats but it looks like Blizzard is moving towards a more skills/loot game...I like the idea of the skill runes and you never know... there may still be ways to modify your stats outside of direct manipulation
The below statement is true.
