Diablo 3 Is Taking Forever! - But Here's Why I Don't Mind.

Diablo 3 has been in production for at least 3-4 plus years. Why? Because Blizzard doesn't release games that they don't feel are polished enough to be successful. They have a tested and tried trial and error methodology for releasing games which includes: Phase testing, product testing, beta testing, and finally, user based testing.
As a user that has been waiting for YEARS ( almost 10 now since D2 Was released) i actually approve of their methodology. Even if it means i'm unable to play my favorite games any time soon. Here's why: Playability. Diablo 2 Is ancient in terms of gameplay. But people still play it to this day, 10 years after it's release. And believe it or not, It's still selling copies! Although the game isn't perfect, the game play is fun.
I think this is something many developers forget. Fun and Replay factor. I can't stress this enough. Theres not enough money in the world to keep a game going unless it meets these critical factors. Example: Final Fantasy XIV. I've been a fan of these series as long as i could remember. I made the horrid mistake on buying this game based solely on the silly notion that Square-Enix Creates genuinely good games. As it turns out, that was a big mistake. This is a game they charged nearly 85$ for an advanced collectors edition. Well as it turns out, they pre-maturely released a game for PC based on a Console Layout with No Content, No End Game, Barely any kind of storyline. The result? completely and utter failure. The game went from 700,000 users to nearly 50,000 in a matter of a month. Why? Because to be quite frank. The game sucks hard. This is why i don't mind waiting for Diablo 3.
Now that i'm out of 85$ bucks (ff14) - I'm sitting back and waiting for D3. So tell me, Do you mind waiting for a game until it's completely polished and perfected? Or do you prefer SE way of releasing games. Releasing a core product and then fixing it as time goes along?
